Stitched together three minutes worth of goodness from a couple games’ worth of footage from last weekend.

polo and the highlife

Many polo’ers like to … live the high life so to speak while doing the polo.  Seems a bit ironic that the second ingredient, beer, markets the phrase “high life” on its cans.  Maybe if they legalize it/(the first ingredient) Miller will expand its product offering.  Whatever.

I would recommend playing a hard afternoon of polo to anyone who’s had trouble sleeping lately.  Simply consume in 10 minute bursts over a period of 5 hours starting around 1pm.  Expect the effects to kick in shortly after nightfall.  Wake up fully rested the next day.  Some users may experience bruising, general bodily creakiness, and a renewed sense of vitality.

Shot a couple games’ worth of footage today with the camera just about scraping the ground, all rigged up to a mallet.  Haven’t seen any polo footage quite like it before.  Expect to see a compilation thrown on youtube (and posted here) in the coming days.

Shot a bunch of footage of the Boston Bike Polo crew playing this past weekend at our Allston Court.  This is to be the main tournament court for the ESPI’s, so to all you contenders out there – study up!

Watch it on youtube in HQ/HD – muuuuuch higher quality that way.

Collapsible Mallet Concept

I came upon some collapsible hiking poles today and made one into a  mallet.  The other pole… well let’s just say I hacksawed the handle off while it was in the collapsed position… and cut off both the handle as intended and the internal mechanism that tightens the pole up and allows it to expand.

Polo tomorrow, we’ll see how it performs.  If anyone of my strength or stronger tries to bend and break the bottom piece over their knee,  it will indeed snap in half.  The top piece is much stronger.

I finally put the finishing touches on my legit-style mallet making video.  More work than most people’d put into a mallet, but every one I’ve made like this has turned out near darn perfect.
